Over a month ago my husband was pulled over by the OPP on highway 6 for purchasing Illegal cigarettes out of our local Indian Reserve. No highway driving infractions, but Revenue Canada issued him a summons to appear in court. Firstly, hello! I just recently started growing my very first small patch of tobacco, and this is my first time on this forum. I planted two small seed packets of Nicotiana rustica, ordered from Bouncing Bear Botanicals. The seeds grew exceptionally well and I somehow ended up with around 200 rapidly growing plants. Though it was unnoticeable at first, roughly one fifth of my crop appears drastically different from all the others, though I only cultivated (to my knowledge) one...

1. Can most of the tobacco leaves be used for twist?

2. Do you simply use the ones that "turn yellow and fall off?

3. Can I use Jasmine for twist?

4. Do you simply put several leafs together for and twist---for twist?

5. Does anyone use "binders" (like molasses or something) for cementing the strands together in the twist?

Can someone tell me how to make a cigar mold. If you can, show me some pics of your molds. I want to make one. I have to wait till I harvest my tobacco first. Any ideas on how to make one?

hi -

i purchased seeds from seedman.com and also from organica.com. last year, i very carefully sprinkled the tiny seeds on the surface of very dark soil in a small seed bed. i watered them very carefully, but not one sprouted.

this year i did the same, but i used a mist sprayer to water and a layer of plastic wrap on top to ensure regular moisture level. that also did not work - now one plant sprouted.

so then i tried putting 6 seeds in a damp paper tower, held above...

Okay so i've got some seed and a place to grow it, in fact have four varieties to start with. I don't smoke paper any more, and don't care for cigars. I smoke the old traditional way, namely in a pipe.(nothing older unless you count throwing the leaves on a fire and inhaling the smoke) Now I understand that "Cavendish" is made by "steaming", and a lot of the pipe tobacco process is somewhat different than other uses, if nothing else pipe tobacco is wetter in its usable...
